About the Artist
KIDO, widely known as "@Kikkujo" or simply "Jo" is a visual artist based in Los Angeles. He is mostly acknowledged for his visual work for musicians/producers such as Tomppabeats and Mark Redito, having spread through their respective scenes over the online; and consequently, alternative modes of circulation only made possible by the interconnectivity and vastness of the internet.
Melancholy and sometimes somber, Kikkujo’s work depicts nostalgia and longing; fragmentation of identity; [ab]normalities of life; and an eye for fashion; all with a unique imagery that blends strong Japanese influences with the spirit of classical western art, and graphic design.
Jo operates within the infinite confines of the internet. While still making art, he is currently directing an art curation project: HOME_ROOM and its subsequent clothing platform: a.DEMO.
He also doesn't like writing about himself seriously, so most of the words in this bio were written by other people. Shout out.
And he says "hi."
